À propos de cette pierre
Some specimens are greater than the sum of their parts, and this pyrite-quartz combination is exactly that. Blocky, mirror-bright pyrite crystals — some showing that satisfying cubic geometry, others clustered in granular masses — anchor a matrix of creamy host rock, while a spray of clear quartz points rises from the center like a tiny ice cathedral. The contrast is everything: the warm metallic gold of the pyrite against the cool glass-clear transparency of the quartz, rough and polished, heavy and delicate, all sharing the same piece of stone.
Peru has long been one of the world's premier sources for pyrite specimens, and it's not hard to see why. The mineralization there produces pyrite with exceptional luster and crystal definition, and the frequent association with quartz makes for combination pieces that are both visually dynamic and mineralogically interesting. This one is compact enough to tuck into a windowsill but has enough going on that you'll keep finding new details.
A solid entry point for the collector who wants two minerals for the price of one — and a beautiful one at that.
