À propos de cette pierre
Single crystal tourmaline specimens are impressive. Multi-crystal matrix pieces like this one are something else entirely. Scattered across a generous feldspar and muscovite mica matrix — the feldspar creamy and textured, the mica catching light with a soft silver shimmer — a cluster of black schorl tourmaline crystals emerges at various angles, each one showing the characteristic deep striations and metallic luster of high-quality Pakistan material. The crystals range from stubby and blocky to more elongated prisms, creating a dynamic, multi-directional composition that rewards viewing from every angle.
The matrix here is as interesting as the tourmalines themselves. Skardu pegmatites produce feldspar and muscovite of exceptional quality alongside their tourmaline, and this piece shows all three minerals at their best — a genuine mineralogical community rather than a single specimen on a plain base.
Substantial in footprint and complex in composition, this is the kind of piece that anchors a collection rather than just adding to it.
Origin: Skardu, Pakistan
