About this stone
Like a glimpse of glacial meltwater frozen in stone, this stunning specimen showcases pristine aquamarine crystals — a variety of the mineral beryl — cradled beautifully within a bed of creamy white cleavelandite feldspar. The aquamarine displays that signature pale blue-green color, cool and luminous, with a glassy transparency that catches the light and holds your gaze. The contrast between the icy blue crystals and the soft, porcelain-white matrix is nothing short of breathtaking — a natural composition that looks almost intentionally artistic. Weighing in at a substantial 745 grams, this is a piece with genuine presence and heft, perfect for anchoring a shelf, cabinet, or display case with effortless elegance.
Aquamarine belongs to the beryl family — the same prestigious mineral group that gives us emerald and morganite — and derives its enchanting blue color from trace amounts of iron within its crystal structure. The Shigar Valley of Pakistan is one of the world's most celebrated sources for gem-quality aquamarine, producing crystals of exceptional clarity and color that rival anything found globally. Formed deep within pegmatite veins in the Karakoram mountain range, these crystals grew slowly over millions of years, developing their characteristic hexagonal prismatic habit and extraordinary transparency. The cleavelandite matrix — a platy, white variety of albite feldspar — is a hallmark of the finest Pakistani pegmatite specimens and adds tremendous scientific and aesthetic value.
